Beautiful, unexpected, and richly elegant, the new Westfield Valley Fair is the place Silicon Valley has been waiting for and deserves.   The destination’s $1.1 billion transformation and phased opening of its reimagined retail and restaurant offerings is now underway, highlighted by the March 2020 opening of a new three-level, flagship Bloomingdale’s and a number of additional brands alongside the unveiling of the center’s new public areas and beautifully landscaped outdoor plazas. 

With new openings slated to occur throughout the year ahead and into 2021, the new Valley Fair will be providing a balanced curation of fashion and technology boutiques, chef-driven restaurants, fresh local food, events and entertainment, multi-faceted social activities, and a wide range of health and wellness amenities.

The center’s new design includes a tasteful blend of indoor and outdoor retail and dining districts, along with more green spaces and new gracious seating and lounge areas where guests can spend an afternoon relaxing or just simply enjoy a break from shopping. 

The Vanguard of Shop, Dine, and Play Valley Fair has long showcased the West Coast’s most dynamic retail mix, featuring everything from Burberry, Bottega Veneta, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, and Balenciaga to G-Star Raw, Levi’s, Oakley, Uniqlo, Zara, and J.Crew. The center’s new vision hinges on bringing even more of a mix of uses to its customers to evolve the entire environment into a true lifestyle destination.Valley Fair will be adding more than 100 exciting new brands overall, including a spectacular Apple flagship store and an elegant Gucci boutique alongside prestigious luxury and emerging concepts, as well as state-of-the-art digitally native vertical brands (DNVBs). In line with Valley Fair’s role both as a showplace for the latest trends in experiential retail and as a digital brand incubator, many of the upcoming arrivals will feature innovative store concepts never before seen in the U.S., including a prototype design Bulgari boutique, a Cole Haan GRANDSHØPconcept store, the unique South Korean eyewear brand Gentle Monster, and the luxe Chinese lingerie line Neiwai Premium.Valley Fair will also be introducing a number of new health and wellness amenities, including an Orangetheory Fitness micro-fitness studio, as well as an innovative new concept in healthcare called Forward, a membership-based, full-service doctor’s office.
A New Focus on Flavor Inspired by California’s love of bold flavors and locally sourced ingredients, the dining collection at Valley Fair is evolving to comprise a multi-faceted array of award-winning restaurants and fresh food offerings. Upon project completion, there will be more than 25 new restaurant choices, both indoors and outside as part of Valley Fair’s new open-air district. Headlining the new arrivals will be Eataly Silicon Valley, the first location of this beloved Italian food emporium in the Bay Area and only the second on the West Coast. Encompassing a mix of restaurants, cafés, to-go counters, bars, and fresh produce within a 51,000-square-foot pavilion, Eataly will showcase a combination of artisanal imports from Italy as well as fresh, local produce and wine from Northern California. Asian food has always been an exciting part of Valley Fair’s offering, and joining ultra-popular Ramen Nagi and Taiwanese Michelin star-winning dumpling house Din Tai Fung will be Bamboo Sushi—its first formal, full-service restaurant in Northern California—as well as Coco Fresh Tea & Juice, iChina, Lucky Tea,MissNoodle, Pokeatery, Rooster & Rice, Somi Somi, Uncle Tetsu, and Vietnoms. The center will also introduce an outpost of the award-winning Mastro’s Steakhouse, along with King’s Fish House, Salt & Straw, Shake Shack, and many more.
The Art of Simplified Design The new design at Westfield Valley Fair focuses on more fully creating a sense of place. From the moment shoppers enter the grand “doorless” entrance composed of intricate glass paneling and experience the soaring ceilings, they will immediately feel they have crossed the threshold into someplace special.The design brings more natural light into the property’s interior areas and makes better use of the location’s beautiful landscape views. The high walls of the past, which separated Valley Fair from the community, are being removed to allow for a direct connection between the center and the surrounding streetscape and skyline, and ceilings throughout the center feature specialized and backlit glass panels that enable sunshine to fill and warm the space during the day and articulate mood at night. The center will be brighter, warmer, and truly connected to the broader community in a seamless, elegant, and pedestrian-friendly way. Taking its cues from the temperate climate and indoor/outdoor lifestyle, new firepits and seating areas invite guests to spend an afternoon socializing as much as shopping in the new open-air district, and a distinct focus on integrating technology seamlessly leaves customers able to focus on a different type of connection.The center’s new outdoor spaces will be highlighted with stunning, ecologically sourced Ipe wood, alongside rolling grass mounds, shade trees, and verdant landscaping.
