The development, which will conclude in 2019, will further elevate Westfield Valley Fair as a Flagship Property. It will include a mix of retail stores with a broad range of price points and merchandise selection but also first-to-market food and entertainment offerings, tech-forward experiences and world-class amenities not found at other centers in the market. With a $1.1 billion investment, Westfield Valley Fair will become a spectacular retail landmark featuring a new 150,000 square foot, three-level flagship Bloomingdale’s department store.
Joining the new Bloomingdale’s and existing retail magnets Nordstrom and Macy’s as a new property anchor will be a ShowPlace ICON cinema. Providing a movie going experience unlike any other in northern California, the ICON offers bold, modern design, sleek lounge space, fine dining and signature cocktails, large leather sofa-style chairs and intimate tables in adults-only seating sections, as well as state-of-the-art cinematic technology.
Valley Fair unveiled a brand-new parking structure on Monroe Street at the end of 2015, featuring a digital navigation system that makes finding parking easier than ever before with green lights pointing the way to all available open spaces. The structure also introduces state-of-the-art LED lights that have photo sensors as well as motion sensors, and a dedicated bicycle parking and repair section. Park Assist allows those forgetting their parking spot to simply type their license plate number into a nearby kiosk to immediately locate their vehicle. In addition, charging stations for electric vehicles, complimentary Wi-Fi, and reserved Family Parking stalls for parents with young children will be added to the garage by the end of 2016. This new 2,000-space structure is easily accessible from the new off-ramp available from Hwy. 880.
In 2013, Valley Fair unveiled its new “Luxury Collection” showcasing such prestigious brands as Prada, David Yurman, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Burberry alongside Louis Vuitton, Cartier, and Tiffany & Co. Concurrent with the Luxury Collection’s debut, the property also launched its modern dining terrace featuring fresh cuisine and stylish new setting. Since then, elegantly designed boutiques for Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, CH Carolina Herrera, Balenciaga, Giorgio Armani, Mulberry, Balenciaga and Versace have opened to rave reviews from shoppers throughout the region.
Moving forward, the property will continue to expand the Luxury Collection to include stunning new showrooms for many of the world’s finest fashion brands. Upcoming enhancements also include a chic new dining district showcasing innovative chefs and restaurateurs nestled amidst open-air pedestrian promenades and relaxing outdoor lounges.
With these upgrades, Westfield Valley Fair continues its evolution into a 2.2 million square foot retail powerhouse with luxury fashion, cutting-edge cuisine, exhilarating events and entertainment, five-star customer amenities, and retail’s most innovative new digital technologies all combining to provide an immersive sensory experience befitting the style and sophistication of Silicon Valley.
