The Good Loop Pop-Up Shop

from April 25 to April 28

This Earth Day, celebrate the spirit of circularity and sustainable consumption with the introduction of The Good Loop pop-up clothing swap April 25-28, open 11 AM-7 PM daily, as part of Westfield UTC’s Good Festival

For the first time, San Diegan and philanthropist Makenzie Lowe, founder of The Good Loop, will bring her inclusive approach to sustainable fashion into a reimagined brick and mortar retail space located next to Stance, between Nordstrom and H&M. Here, the community can come together to embrace an eco-conscious approach to shopping and help close the clothing loop.

  1. Register for the event. Event is FREE to attend, but registration is required to participate. Click the link to register for the day you want to attend, and visit anytime between 11 AM-7 PM. (Note- See FAQs for details if you're interested in attending multiple days as only one registration will be required.)
  2. Please bring no more than 10 pieces of gently loved clothing items. Shoes, clothing, handbags, and belts included! Men's, women's, and unisex styles are welcome. Adult sizes only. (What not to bring: swimwear, jewelry, undergarments, or children’s clothing.)
  3. Check in upon arrival at The Good Loop pop-up shop. We will inventory your items so we can calculate how many pieces we swap throughout the event.
  4. We’ll hang your items, and you’ll shop the racks for new-to-you finds! Please only take as many items as you brought to swap.
  5. Make friends and chat about sustainable fashion, while enjoying surprise treats and brand appearances!

All remaining items at the end of the event are donated to a local houseless shelter in San Diego, The Alpha Project.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • When and where is The Good Loop pop-up clothing swap happening? Please join us in The Good Loop’s first-ever brick & mortar shop buildout for a limited time at Westfield UTC, April 25-28, open 11 AM-7 PM daily. The shop is located between Nordstrom and H&M, next to Stance.
  • What types of items can I bring to swap? Gently loved apparel, shoes, hats, scarves, handbags, and belts are welcome. Women's, men's, and unisex adult-sized articles only, please. Undergarments, socks, jewelry, sunglasses, and other accessories will not be accepted.
  • Can I bring more than 10 items? Each guest is limited to bringing a maximum of 10 gently loved items. This allows us to hold space for everyone’s items. If you have more than 10 items you are looking to donate, check out these other Westfield UTC brand recycling programs or consider these local San Diego nonprofit organizations: The Alpha Project, San Diego Rescue Mission, Father Joe's Villages.
  • Do I need to RSVP? Yes- an individual registration is required for each participant. All are welcome to attend this free pop-up clothing swap event. When you click to register, you’ll be asked to select your preferred date to attend between April 25-28, and you’re welcome to visit any time during the 11 AM-7 PM daily operating hours. While pre-registration is recommended, onsite registration will be available.
  • Can I attend more than one day? Absolutely! We’d love to welcome you back to the pop-up shop more than once. You’ll register for a single day, but are welcome as a walk-up guest any additional days and your swap activity will be logged against your original registration profile. The maximum of 10 items to swap applies to each participant across the full duration of the event, April 25-28. If you do not leave with as many items as you brought to swap on that first visit, your profile will note the remaining items available, and you’re welcome to return to shop the ever-changing inventory until you reach your limit!
  • What will happen to the remaining items after the event? All remaining items will be donated to our local neighbors in need through The Alpha Project, Houseless Center in San Diego. The Alpha Project operates a 325-bed Temporary Bridge Shelter Program for single adults located in Downtown San Diego. The Program utilizes tools designed to effectively serve the target population in a welcoming and solutions-focused environment. The objective of the Program is to offer a safe place for adult single men and women experiencing homelessness to receive bridge housing, emergency shelter, and appropriate services needed while preparing for permanent housing placements using the Housing First model.
