Westfield Stratford City has always played an important role within our community, and we are proud to continue providing our support to those services and organisations that need it at this time. In response to this crisis, our centre teams have engaged in a number of initiatives with local authorities and organisations to support our communities and ignite a movement of togetherness during this period of separation. Below are some of the #kindnesstogether initiatives we are currently running:
Our employees are dedicating time each week to speak to local people who have signed up to Age UK East London’s telephone ‘befriending’ service, providing older people in isolation with regular social contact.
We have partnered with The Magpie Project to ensure emergency supplies of food, baby and sanitation products are delivered to local mums and children under five suffering in temporary or insecure accommodation in Newham.
We have provided support to Caritas Anchor House by covering the cost of vital and urgent cleaning products and protective equipment. Caritas Anchor House is a homelessness charity in Newham, providing a safe place to stay and support to 140 people each day, so this donation will help keep their residents and staff safe.
We partnered with Waitrose and Partners to supply essential care packages and Easter treats to our local charities, Age UK East London, The Magpie Project and Caritas Anchor House.
