A dynamic, free Creative Freelancer Day designed to support emerging and established creatives navigating freelance careers across the creative industries to:

  • Make Money from your skills
  • Find paid work
  • Know what clients really want
  • Meet the hirers

Morning Sessions 10am – 1pm 

1: MAKE MONEY FROM YOUR SKILLS 10am – 11am 

Many people have valuable skills but don’t know how to turn them into income. This practical workshop helps participants identify their strengths, explore freelance and side-hustle opportunities, and understand how to position themselves in the market.  Attendees will learn how to communicate their value with confidence, identify potential services they can offer, and take the first steps towards generating income from their skills.

 

2: HOW TO FIND PAID FREELANCE WORK 11am – 12pm

Finding clients is one of the biggest challenges for new freelancers and side-hustlers. This session breaks down the fundamentals of attracting paid work, helping participants identify their ideal audience, develop a realistic pricing approach, and create a simple marketing strategy. Attendees will leave with practical actions they can implement immediately to start building visibility and winning opportunities.

 

3: WHAT CLIENTS REALLY WANT WHEN HIRING A FREELANCER - PANEL DISCUSSION 12pm – 1pm 

Ever wondered what goes through a client’s mind when hiring a freelancer? In this interactive panel discussion, participants will hear directly from hiring experts about what makes someone stand out. The session provides an honest insight into how clients make hiring decisions, common mistakes freelancers make, and the qualities that lead to repeat work and long-term success. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the panel and gain practical insights from those who regularly hire freelance talent
