Saving food with ‘Too good to go’

Food waste has become a problem that affects us all. By cooperating with the start-up ‘Too good to go’, we, as Austria's largest shopping centre, want to further expand our efforts to conserve resources and protect the environment, while at the same time offering visitors another innovative service.

With the ‘Too good to go’ app, visitors to Westfield Shopping City Süd can easily make a contribution against food waste and also benefit from it themselves. Our partner businesses use the app to offer their surplus food for self-collection at greatly reduced prices. By checking the app, you can always see which offers are available and where. Excellent and discounted food for our visitors: inside, less waste for the restaurants and resource conservation for the environment: a win-win situation for everyone! 

How does it work?

The employees: inside our partner businesses such as Nordsee, Wok on Fire, IKEA, Interspar, Dunkin Donuts and many more, pack fresh products into so-called surprise bags. The contents of these bags vary depending on what is left over at the end of the day. The surprise packages are reserved via the app and are then ready for collection from the respective store 30 minutes before closing time.
