General Information
From March 2026, Westfield gift cards are issued through a new gift card system. As part of this change, each Westfield centre now has its own dedicated gift card.
The change applies to all new gift cards sold from the beginning of March 2026.
The Austrian Supreme Court ruled that gift cards redeemable in two geographically separate shopping centres can no longer be classified as “limited network payment instruments”. As a result, such gift cards would legally be considered electronic money (e-money), which involves significantly higher administrative requirements and costs. To keep the gift card system free of charge for customers, gift cards can therefore now only be redeemed within a single shopping centre.
No. Gift cards purchased previously can still be redeemed in both centres until their expiry date (valid for 1 year from the date of purchase).
The respective Westfield centre (Shopping City Süd or Donau Zentrum) is printed directly on the gift card.
Gift Cards Purchased Before 01.01.2026
Yes. Gift cards purchased before 2026 can still be redeemed in both centres until their expiry date.
Gift cards purchased before 01.01.2026 can no longer be extended. However, any remaining balance can be refunded upon request.
Expired Gift Cards
You can request a refund of the remaining balance at one of our centre reception desks. The remaining amount will be transferred to your bank account.
Refunds can be requested using the PayLife form. You can complete this form at one of the Center Receptions or download it from our website. We recommend submitting the completed form directly to PayLife (service@paylife.at), as processing is usually faster in this case.
Our reception teams will be happy to assist you with completing the form if needed.
Due to increased demand, processing may take up to four weeks.
New Gift Cards
The new centre-specific gift cards have been available since March 2026. They can be purchased at the reception desks in the respective centre or via the centre’s online shop.
The new gift cards are valid for 5 years from the date of issue.
No. Since the system change in March 2026, each centre has its own gift card.
The Westfield gift card can be topped up once and can be loaded with any amount from €10 up to €250. When paying with the Westfield gift card, it is important that you are aware of your available credit. If you are asked for the code simply enter the PIN shown at the back of the card underneath the scratch panel.
Using the Gift Card
The gift card can be redeemed in many shops, restaurants and leisure venues within the respective Westfield centre. Please note that due to technical changes during the initial phase, not all shops may be able to accept the new card immediately.
You can check your balance by scanning the QR code on the back of the card or online.
The minimum amount is €10, and the maximum amount is €250 per card. The card cannot be reloaded.
If the total amount exceeds the balance on your gift card, you can simply pay the remaining amount using another payment method. Please inform the shop about the remaining balance on your card before completing the payment.
Lost gift cards must be treated like cash and unfortunately cannot be replaced or refunded.
Activating the Gift Card
If you ordered your gift card online and received it by post, it must be activated before it can be used. Activation can be completed at westfieldscs.giftify.me or by scanning the QR code on the back of the card.
Credit enquiry for Paylife cards purchased before January 2026.
Paylife cards that have already been purchased can be redeemed as usual.
Please note that expired cards cannot be renewed. However, the credit balance on expired cards will be refunded. A form for this purpose is available at reception and can be filled out on site. Alternatively, the form is also available online here. It can be downloaded, the fields marked in yellow must be filled in and then sent to Paylife by email.
Credit balance enquiries can still be made as usual.

Westfield Donau Zentrum and Westfield Shopping City Süd sell the voucher in the name and for the account of BAWAG P.S.K.. PayLife is a brand of BAWAG P.S.K. Bank für Arbeit und Wirtschaft and Österreichische Postsparkasse Aktiengesellschaft.
The use of this Maestro prepaid voucher card is restricted to Westfield Donau Zentrum and Westfield Shopping City Süd.
Availability fee for PayLife ‘prepaid cards’/‘voucher cards’ in Austria
PayLife ‘Prepaid Cards’/‘Voucher Cards’ have a limited term. After the card has expired, you can have your remaining credit refunded at any time within the 30-year holding period by completing a refund form. We take the liberty of charging a holding fee of EUR 2.00 per month for holding the credit. This fee will be deducted from the remaining credit on your expired card at the end of each month until the credit has been used up.
If you would like to have your remaining credit refunded, you have the following options:
1. if the remaining credit on the card has been completely deducted from the provisioning fee (credit is EUR 0), please send the signed form as a scan, available atCancellation/Cancellation form for PayLife prepaid cards, to service@paylife.at and we will transfer the amount of the fees charged back to you.
2. if there is still credit remaining on the expired card, you can extend it free of charge at the point of sale and any service fees charged will be automatically credited back to your card or customer account within 2-3 working days of the extension.
