Discoveries: The Library at the Mall

Discoveries: YA AUTHOR VISIT: ANN FRAISTAT

21 October

Curious about what it would be like to write your own novel? Author Ann Fraistat can tell you all about it! We'll sit down for a Q&A with Ann to talk about her debut young adult novel What We Harvest, how it started out as a NaNoWriMo project, and what she's working on now.

Speaking of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), Ann and library staff will then lead you through some fun writing games and exercises to get the creative juices flowing and your novel-writing skills ready for November!

Ann Fraistat is an author, playwright, and narrative designer. Her debut novel, What We Harvest, is a 2022 Bram Stoker Nominee, an ABA Indies Introduce and Kids' Indie Next Pick, and a finalist for the Barnes & Noble YA 2022 Book Awards. A Place For Vanishing, her second book, releases January 16, 2024. Her co-author credits include plays such as Romeo & Juliet: Choose Your Own Ending, and alternate reality games sponsored by the National Science Foundation.
