Artist Stacie Birky Greene is creating a woven American Flag art installation in honor of veterans and their families with ribbons carrying the names of loved ones and fellow soldiers as well as images of something veterans brought back with them from the theater of war.
Veteran contributions are welcome - please submit images of something you brought back from war: anything from a scar, tattoo, a poem, art, objects, etc. There is a drop box located next to the art installation at Westfield Plaza Bonita on Level 1 near Charming Charlie, or images can be emailed directly to email@example.com.
No person's experience can be summarized in a single image, but our hope is that this collection of representative images may begin to illustrate the sorts of experiences people have in war. The installation will be available for viewing through Veteran’s Day – November 11, 2017.
