PARENTAL GUIDANCE POLICY

Hours: 3:00 PM – Close (Daily)
Effective September 28, 2026

Visitors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or chaperone age 21 or older at all times after 3:00 PM, seven days a week.

1. Supervision Requirement: All visitors aged 17 and under must be accompanied by a parent or supervising adult (21+) after 3:00 PM daily. Policy hours are subject to change during the holiday season.

2. Unaccompanied Minors: Minors without proper supervision after 3:00 PM will be required to leave the center or immediately reunite with a supervising adult (21+). Refusal to comply or repeated violations may result in removal from the property, a ban, or trespassing enforcement by the Montgomery County Police Department.

3. Proof of Age: Supervising adults may be required to present valid identification. Individuals unable to provide acceptable ID may be asked to leave.

4. Acceptable Identification: Valid ID includes a state-issued driver’s license or identification card, military ID, or passport. Identification must be tamper-resistant and include a photograph and date of birth.

5. Supervision Ratio: One supervising adult may accompany no more than four (4) minors. All minors must remain with their supervising adult at all times.

6. Responsibility: Supervising adults are responsible for the conduct, the behavior and the compliance of the Shopping Center Code
of Conduct of all minors in their care.

Exemption is made for juveniles working in the mall and during legitimate emergencies. In these emergency incidents,
please report to the Mall Security Office for further information.

Why is Westfield Montgomery implementing a parental guidance policy?

We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming and fun environment for our guests to enjoy while shopping, dining or attending an event at Westfield Montgomery. After careful consideration, we have decided to implement a parental guidance policy on evenings to ensure everyone feels comfortable in our shopping center and can enjoy their experience. We want to emphasize that all guests are welcome. The new policy requires after 3:00 p.m., visitors under 18 years of age must be with a parent or supervising adult.

How will the mall be enforcing the new parental guidance policy?

The policy will be enforced through security presence and ID checks, with unaccompanied minors directed to leave or find an eligible adult

What happens to underage visitors who are dropped off, but without a parent or supervising adult? Are they denied entry? What do you do if they don’t have a way to leave the property?

Visitors under the age of 18 without a parent or supervising adult 21 years or older will not be allowed access to the center and must contact their parent/guardian to either pick them up or accompany the minor during their visit at the center.

Is the Parental Guidance Policy in effect just for the inside of the shopping center, or on all mall property?

The Parental Guidance Policy is in effect for the entire mall property including the interior and exterior of the center.

Is the Parental Guidance Policy in effect for the restaurants, department stores and the movie theater?

The Parental Guidance Policy will be in effect for the common area of the mall and the inline retailers. Restaurants and department store policies will vary so guests should contact them directly for more information.

How long will this policy be in effect?

This policy will remain in effect indefinitely.

What will happen to those who are under 18 at 3:00 pm who entered the mall earlier in the day?

Anyone in the common area of the mall under the age of 18 without a parent or supervising adult 21 years or older after 3:00 pm will be asked to contact their parent/guardian to either pick them up or accompany the minor during the remainder of their visit at the center.
