About the event
This is a Summer Smarts Event!
Summer Smarts is all about connecting communities through learning, and we’re bringing the ultimate insect experience to the heart of Westfield Montgomery! Discover the fascinating world of bugs with Smithsonian Scientists.
📍 Location: Center Court, Westfield Montgomery
🕐 Time: 11:00 AM
WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN:
Prime kids for Back-to-School season with fun, interactive learning activities at Westfield Montgomery this summer, featuring scientists from the Smithsonian teaching about ant colonies and teamwork.
- Story time with ant puppet: “Formica’s Amazing Adventure with Amy Ant”
- Ant Trail Relay: where kids work as a team, like an ant colony, to transport "food" from a foraging area to the ant colony nest. Kids can directly experience how ants rely on one another and build something larger together.
- Show & Tell: meet an Ant expert, see a live ant colony and other cool insects
- Activity Time: the “Ant-venture Passport” scavenger hunt throughout participating stores, each themed around a different ant caste or task. Kids collect bug-themed stickers at participating stores, building their own keepsake passport booklet as they explore.
