A FUSION OF TIMELESS MASTERPIECES WITH CREATIVITY WORN EVERY DAY. THE SWATCH ART JOURNEY CONTINUES ITS INTERCONTINENTAL CELEBRATION OF 20TH-CENTURY ART

We are proud to present the next chapter in the history of the Swatch Art Journey: the Swatch × Guggenheim collection—four exceptional watches inspired by works of legendary artists Edgar Degas, Paul Klee, Claude Monet, and Jackson Pollock. Created in collaboration with the Guggenheim Museum in New York and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, the collection showcases designs inspired by renowned artists that first appeared as part of the Swatch Art Journey program.

Rooted in our passion for art and our commitment to making it accessible to a wide audience, this collaboration is the latest chapter in a long-standing relationship that dates back to the early 1990s. From supporting the Peggy Guggenheim Collection to organizing an exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum in New York—where the only Swatch IRONY Special collection created by Arnaldo Pomodoro is on display—our relationship with the Guggenheim museums continues to flourish.

The Swatch × Guggenheim collection is inspired by four masterpieces—three from the New York museum and one from the renowned Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice.

DEGAS’S DANCERS showcases Dancers in Green and Yellow (1903) by Edgar Degas, currently exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Referencing the artist’s devotion to capturing the grace and remarkable endurance of ballet dancers, as well as his distinctive cropped compositions, the watch features a dial that draws the eye to a ballerina’s feet. The straps depict the slender figures of dancers and their flowing tulle skirts, evoking Degas’s mastery in portraying movement. Shimmering greens and sunny yellows further enhance the sense of fluid, balletic motion.

MONET’S PALAZZO DUCALE presents Claude Monet’s masterpiece The Palazzo Ducale, Seen from San Giorgio Maggiore (1908). Currently exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the painting depicts the majestic historic Doge’s Palace in Venice, subtly linking the homes of the two Guggenheim institutions. This iconic Venetian landmark, captured through the light-filled brushstrokes of the Impressionist master, appears on the watch dial. The straps portray the ever-changing reflections of the Venetian lagoon, referencing Monet’s unparalleled ability to capture light. A joyful highlight of this unique timepiece is its dial, which glows a vivid orange after exposure to UV light, revealing the radiant charm of Venice—often personified in art as a noble woman. MONET’S PALAZZO DUCALE is also available with SwatchPAY!*, a secure and discreet payment feature.

KLEE’S BAVARIAN DON GIOVANNI features the playful geometry and symbolic forms of Paul Klee’s Bavarian Don Giovanni (1919). Considered a veiled self-portrait of the artist, the painting depicts a figure climbing a ladder surrounded by the names of five women. Drawing from the artwork’s whimsical lines and vibrant color palette, the watch places Klee’s figure on the dial, with the women’s names displayed on the straps—transforming it into a wrist-worn manifestation of creativity, drama, and artistic freedom. The dial features a special calendar wheel whose window changes color daily—perhaps an allusion to Klee’s confession that his “infatuations changed with every soubrette in the opera.”

POLLOCK’S ALCHEMY channels the raw energy and expressive freedom of Alchemy (1947), a work by the father of American Abstract Expressionism, Jackson Pollock. One of the iconic pieces in the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice—founded by one of the most visionary women in the history of modern art—the masterpiece is renowned for its revolutionary technique of pouring and splattering paint onto unstretched canvas. This dynamic approach is captured on the watch dial and strap, expressing the artist’s bold and avant-garde spirit.

From our earliest collaborations to this latest tribute, we and the Guggenheim Museum have brought art into everyday life. The Swatch × Guggenheim collection continues this tradition—not only making great art accessible to a wider audience, but also supporting initiatives at the Guggenheim museums aimed at preserving artistic treasures for future generations.

The four watches in the Swatch × Guggenheim collection combine Swiss design with four museum-worthy masterpieces housed in two iconic institutions—the Guggenheim Museum in New York and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. A playful nod to this transatlantic connection appears in a shared design feature across all watches in the collection: an extra-long, double-length second hand.

To make every minute an inspiration, the Swatch × Guggenheim collection will be available online and in Swatch stores worldwide starting 15 January 2026.
