Your new favourite spot: The Wald Terrassen

There’s plenty going on at Westfield Ruhr Park: look forward to new restaurants, spacious terraces, lots of greenery and plenty of space to socialise. 🌿

Construction is underway at our former Via Bartolo, which is currently closed. This is where the Wald Terrassen are being built, creating a completely new open-air dining and leisure experience. The opening is planned for summer 2028.

As well as a variety of restaurants, you can look forward to spacious lounge areas, a central children’s play area and space for events and activities. Plenty of wood, green spaces and an open-plan design are set to create a relaxed, nature-inspired atmosphere.

Here are the dining highlights you can look forward to 🍔

The first names have already been confirmed: ALEX, 60 Seconds to Napoli, Burgermeister and Frittenwerk will be part of the Wald Terrassen. The Eiscafé Venezia will also remain and will have a larger space with its own terrace in future.

In future, the Wald Terrassen will connect our fashion area with the leisure and entertainment offerings centred around UCI Kinowelt and Boda Borg. This will create a new meeting place for dining, shopping, relaxing and spending time together.

Plenty of greenery right in the heart of Westfield Ruhr Park 🌳

Terraces, green spaces, green roofs and façades, as well as the striking timber construction, all reflect the forest theme. The concept is complemented, amongst other things, by photovoltaic systems and the resource-efficient use of rainwater.
