An art installation for Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier

Just in time for its first anniversary, Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier has gained a new attraction: since 22 April, visitors have been able to view the art installation ‘Aquarell’ by the renowned Berlin artist Tomislav Topić in the so-called Premium Loop, in front of Breuninger.

The work flows down from the ceiling like a waterfall of colour. This creates an elegant interplay of colours that appears different to the viewer depending on their angle of view.

To realise the artwork, Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier has once again collaborated with the Affenfaust Gallery, which is based in St. Pauli. Back in 2022, during the development phase of the district, the two partners jointly created Northern Germany’s longest curated art wall. Under the title #unueberseebar, the installation featured 33 faces on the construction hoardings in the southern part of the Überseequartier – all of them special personalities from the neighbourhood and HafenCity.

With the new artwork by Tomislav Topić, Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier aims to sharpen its profile as a destination for experiences. After all, the neighbourhood is designed to bring the community together – not just for shopping and dining, but also to experience art and culture together.

With this in mind: pop into the Premium Loop and marvel at the installation up close.
