“A Right to Protection – for Every Child”

To mark the 50th anniversary of Westfield Shopping City Süd and the 80th anniversary of UNICEF, we want to send a strong message together in support of children’s rights worldwide. From 8 June to 1 July, the Water Mall at Westfield Shopping City Süd will become a special venue for information and interaction.

UNICEF is the world’s largest children’s rights organisation and has been working in over 190 countries for almost 80 years to ensure the survival, health and nutrition of every child, as well as their access to education, water and hygiene – particularly in acute disaster and crisis situations. The aim is to realise every child’s right to protection, education, healthcare and equality.

At Entrance 4, opposite Benetton and Tom Tailor, an interactive exhibition awaits you, focusing on the themes of education, protection and malnutrition in crisis zones around the world. In lockers you can open yourself, you can discover drawings and materials created by children from crisis regions, and in the display case you can get an idea of ‘School in a Box’ – an important educational initiative that enables children to receive lessons even in difficult situations.

As the summer holidays get underway, UNICEF Austria is also drawing attention to the global challenges facing children, placing particular emphasis on the importance of education in crisis and conflict zones. For millions of children, access to schooling and basic rights is still far from guaranteed.

UNICEF will be there for you at the accompanying information stand every day during the centre’s opening hours from 9 am to 6 pm. There you can find out more about the projects, ask questions and support the online petition ‘Online safety – for every child’.
