Breastfeeding Seal for Austria’s two largest shopping centers

To mark World Breastfeeding Week, August 1–7, Westfield Donau Zentrum and Westfield Shopping City Süd will receive the Austrian Breastfeeding Certification initiated by MAM Baby Products. With this, we want to send a clear signal in support of greater family-friendliness and make it clear: Breastfeeding mothers are always welcome here.

The Breastfeeding Seal stands for a respectful and breastfeeding-friendly environment where mothers can decide for themselves when and where they would like to breastfeed their babies. Such a symbol is important because recent surveys show that 67 percent of mothers have already experienced hostility while breastfeeding in public.

By receiving this certification, Westfield Donau Zentrum and Westfield Shopping City Süd are joining the Austrian Breastfeeding Seal initiative, which has already been adopted by more than 250 companies and institutions in Austria. Together, we want to help ensure that breastfeeding in public is seen as a matter of course and that families feel completely welcome here.
