SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Move over Marilyn, and step aside Streisand-- soon a whole new generation of entertainment stars will get their chance to shine on the Walk of Game!
Metreon—A Sony Entertainment Center today announced plans to launch the video game industry’s version of the “walk of fame” to commemorate some of pop culture's most indelible icons of the digital screen. Located in the heart of downtown San Francisco, Metreon is the prime location to honor the creations of Northern California’s tech-savvy hub, which many gaming firms such as Electronic Arts, PlayStation®, and Sega call home.
"Walk of Game pays tribute to an industry that has had an overwhelming impact on pop culture," states Eva Miranda, senior vice president and general manager of Metreon. “Metreon is proud to celebrate the global gaming culture’s most dynamic icons.”
Metreon will be launching a website in October of 2003 as a sounding board for gamers worldwide to get involved in the selection of future honorees.
