The Rose Goldwater Foundation
The Rose Goldwater Foundation is now in its seventh month and making progress towards its first fundraising event. Their current project for 2008 aims to raise funds to renovate a sports field for Pacific Lodge Boys' Home.
Founded in 1923, Pacific Lodge Boys' Home provides a therapeutic residential treatment program for boys 13 to 17. On a lushly landscaped 10-acre campus in the West Valley, boys receive 24-hour treatment for psychological, emotional or behavioral problems and learn how to build more productive lives.
The current sports field is in dire need of improvements to render it safe and useable by the boys. The Foundation also have an potential tenant--a soccer club--interested in leasing the field under terms beneficial to the Home. This will provide the cash needed to both renovate and maintain the field maintain the field, as well as augment the Home's continuing fundraising. The rough estimate for the field renovation is $300,000. Our goal is to raise $100,000 through the Rose Goldwater Foundation, which can be matched by several other organizations.
