Jobs & Training.

The city centre will create more than 25,000 construction jobs throughout the duration of the project, with a peak of 4,500 workers on site at one time. It is estimated that over 18,000 permanent jobs will be created on completion.

Our aim is to maximise opportunities for local people and key to this is Workplace, the London Borough of Newham scheme part funded by Westfield’s Section 106 contributions, which matches local people to jobs on the project and helps them gain the skills and the confidence to make the most of Stratford City opportunities.

Workplace is currently operating from premises on Stratford High Street, and is helping local people into jobs. Going forward, Workplace will move into the Employment, Enterprise and Learning Bureau, its permanent home in Stratford, helping match job seekers with retail, leisure and office jobs across the site.

The development will also include 4,650 sq m of space devoted to small businesses.
