Accessibility.
The Stratford City Consultative Access Group meet monthly to assess the current designs for the scheme and give direct feedback to our designers and planners. The group comprises a mix of representatives from disability organisations, as well as local members who experience sensory or mobility issues themselves, to make sure that Stratford City lives up to its commitment to full accessibility for all. This group is supported by our Accessibility Consultant, David Bonnett Associates.
Among the cutting edge initiatives the group has undertaken is the production of ‘Tactile Maps’ – an innovative Braille type system which allows partially sighted or blind people to understand and feed back on the development of our plans.
