San Francisco Ballet will make two special appearances at Westfield San Francisco Centre, during which holiday shoppers and aspiring ballerinas can meet the dancers, take photos, receive autographed posters, and purchase unique holiday merchandise. San Francisco Ballet dancers will be Under the Dome on Level 4 on Saturday, November 17th and Saturday, December 1st from 5 – 6 p.m.

San Francisco Ballet is America’s oldest professional ballet company and home of America’s original Nutcracker. On Christmas Eve, 1944, San Francisco Ballet presented the American premiere of the Nutcracker at the War Memorial Opera House. The ballet was an instant sensation and launched a worldwide holiday tradition. The company’s current production of Nutcracker, set in San Francisco during the 1915 Panama Pacific Exposition, introduces audiences of all ages to the magnificent world of ballet. Illuminique visitors can share the magic of Nutcracker with children and families in need by contributing to San Francisco Ballet’s Children’s Enchantment Fund (CHEF), a program that provides under-served families with the opportunity to see San Francisco Ballet’s Nutcracker free of charge. For many, CHEF offers both a first trip to the War Memorial Opera House and a rare opportunity to see a live dance performance.
