Forward-Thinking Transportation Solutions.
Century City is planning for its future by creating a community where residents can live, work, play and shop without getting in their cars. The New Century Plan strengthens the pedestrian experience, adds transportation improvements and provides additional transit options connected to the Center itself to improve traffic flow in and out of Century City. Westfield’s commitment to traffic mitigation is ongoing and we will work with local residents every step of the way to provide more improvements. In addition, we’re also working with planners, professional traffic flow experts and architects to continue to provide better, more efficient solutions.
Less Morning Rush Hour Traffic
Removing two aging office buildings adjacent to the Shopping Center results in fewer morning rush hour commuters each day. Additionally, enhanced retail and restaurant offerings encourage Century City workers to dine, shop or see a movie after work, further reducing rush hour demands.
Improving Traffic Flow
Traffic improvements, an efficient parking plan and the mixture of residential and retail uses that utilize the roadways at different times during the day will improve local traffic flow.
Planning for a Transit Future
Providing space for the Westside Red Line extension at the corner of Avenue of the Stars and Santa Monica Boulevard.
Improving pedestrian connections to the Santa Monica Transit Corridor making public transportation more accessible to workers and residents.
Supporting a shuttle service throughout Century City for residents, workers and shoppers.
Creating incentive programs for employees to utilize transit, carpools or vanpools including preferred parking, electric vehicle charging stations, easy access to bus and transit passes, bike storage lockers and showers.
