A Commitment to Green.

The New Century Plan reflects Westfield's ongoing commitment to the environment. Westfield is designing the New Century project to achieve Leadership Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards set forth by the U.S. Green Building Council. The design removes the aged office buildings and integrates living space into the retail center, creating efficiencies in water and energy usage. State-of-the-art environmentally friendly technologies and practices will be incorporated including:

  • Partnering with Century City stakeholders to implement a greening, landscape and pedestrian plan connecting to Century City as a whole.
  • Creating acres of open space.
  • Implementing a comprehensive recycling program and waste reduction strategy for tenants, shoppers and residents.
  • Applying world-class design and construction practices for high efficiency buildings with fixtures and equipment that minimize the use of water and energy.
  • Reducing freshwater consumption by recycling water for landscape irrigation.
  • Installing new large-scale solar powered renewable energy on rooftops of the new buildings.
