Westfield Great Northern is pleased to announce the upcoming addition of a 10-screen Regal Cinemas, 2 new restaurants and a new main mall entrance, all of which will debut December 2013.

The new movie theatre and adjacent restaurants, presently under construction, encompasses 55,000 square feet formerly occupied by the old food court and a portion of the Sears wing. An additional 6,000 square feet of space near Sears is being reconfigured to accommodate new retail.

In partnership with Regal Entertainment Group, Westfield will introduce Northeast Ohio to a 10-screen cinema experience, modern in every way, which will also include a unique auditorium equipped for the Regal Premium Experience (RPX). RPX presents movies the way filmmakers intended with powerful, uncompressed surround sound and bright eye-popping images in 2D and 3D. Guests will enjoy the custom-built premium environment featuring elegant and luxurious seats with high-back headrests. A giant immersive screen will be illuminated by high-quality digital projectors and completed with a state-of-the-art sound system for maximum impact.

Another cutting-edge feature will be the Sony Entertainment Access System, which will assist deaf, hard-of-hearing, blind and low-vision moviegoers. The system will include specially designed, lightweight eyewear for deaf and hard-of-hearing guests to privately view closed captioned text directly in their line of sight for both 2D and 3D movies. The assistive technology also includes a wireless receiver for blind and low-vision guests to receive descriptive audio tracks via a pair of headsets.

An exciting line-up of new restaurants that are unique to the community is also on the horizon. Mama Fu's Asian House if the first to be announced and an additional restaurant will be named later this year. Mama Fu's Asian House will offer Asian-inspired dishes that are chef-prepared and made-to-order, and the restaurant will open shortly ahead of the cinema.

The new main mall entrance planned for the project will be positioned at the corner of the southeast wing where the existing building meets the Sears building. Shoppers will enjoy the continued convenience of a large parking field outside the new entrance.

A new, relocated and expanded Forever 21 is now under construction. The new store encompasses 20,000 square feet of space and will open this September.

The store's main entrance will be positioned between American Eagle and Disney Store, while a secondary entrance will provide access from the south wing of the mall and will be positioned between Starbucks and JCPenney. The existing store located near the Dining Court will remain open during construction.

Forever 21 is celebrated by style-conscious and trend-savvy shoppers as an ever-changing source for current fashions at great value.

Events will take place once per month, on the 1st Thursday of each month at 10am.

In partnership with Beck Center for the Arts of Lakewood, activities will be geared for the 5 & under crowd and will always include a sing-along, craft & snack, and other activities as possible. Activities will follow a seasonal or holiday theme.
