Risk Management


Westfield recognises the role it plays in business and the local communities in which it operates. Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of everyone in a Westfield centre and long term success of the company are at the heart of the Group’s risk management strategy.

Risk Management forms a core part of Westfield's business operations and is responsible for the following roles throughout all activities:

  • health and safety;
  • insurance placement, cover, contracts and leases;
  • business continuity management;
  • enterprise risk management; and
  • corporate social and environmental responsibility.

The Risk Management team addresses these responsibilities by:

  • identifying and assessing risks to the business activities;
  • mitigating the risks through elimination, control or transfer;
  • putting in place improvement plans and recommendations;
  • taking the lead on hazard and risk awareness, and educating others; and
  • implementing procedures.
