Westfield provides professional training, development support and advice to employees at head office, centres and sites.  Westfield offers a wide range of regular formal training programs each year, as well as many online training packages.

Sponsor a Friend

Employees are encouraged to refer qualified friends or relatives for internal job postings through the Sponsor a Friend Program. Westfield designed the program to help recruit qualified employees. The best way to find good staff is through the talented people who already work at Westfield and understand its culture and values.

Social Club

Westfield employees run an active social club which organises activities such as white-water rafting, discounted opera and theatre tickets, fun parks, dinners and nights out. Members make a small weekly contribution and company matches each dollar they invest. Any permanent or part-time employees are welcome to join.

Study Assistance

Westfield supports its employees’ commitment to continued learning and personal development. The company’s study policy outlines many areas where Westfield can provide assistance, including study leave, financial assistance and online textbooks.

Employee Assistance Program

Westfield provides access to a free counselling service for employees and their immediate family in difficult times. The service is highly regarded and completely confidential.

Employees have the opportunity to purchase items as mobile phones, parking, laptops and PDAs through salary sacrifice. Westfield also has a fleet management expert who can assist with novated leases and car salary sacrificing.

Westfield’s extensive intranet includes an online site employees can use free of charge to sell, buy or trade goods and services.

Business Improvement Awards

Westfield encourages all employees to propose ideas that help the company achieve cost savings or develop new income streams. The quarterly Business Improvement Awards offer $1,000 prizes for the best ideas and $5,000 for the overall winner.
