Development's activities include major tenant negotiations, land purchases, feasibility studies, gaining approvals from government authorities and joint-venture partnerships.
The Design team is an experienced group of in-house architects and designers who create the sophisticated, high-quality retail environments found in Westfield centres.
Construction works with Development and Design to make centres a reality in built form - delivering tangible development profits for the Group. The Construction team's main focus is delivering quality retail assets on time and on budget.

The leasing function includes the National Shop Openings and Upgrades team, which is responsible for designing and delivering retail shops.
Our Lease Administration team is responsible for efficiently processing retail leases in accordance with Westfield's standards.
The Customer Services team is responsible for providing unparalleled support and guidance to all Westfield shoppers. The team helps to ensure we deliver a rewarding retail experience to our customers.
Our Westfield.com team (Digital Business Group) provides digital services to Westfield worldwide, including the design, build, operation and hosting of web and mobile marketing. The team also manages our corporate sites and revenue-generating platforms such as Gift Cards, Westfield.com and other emerging businesses.
Our Brand Space Sales team provides the platform to showcase and promote products, generating sales from our millions of dedicated shoppers.The Brand Space Sales team also looks after temporary leasing (of non-fixed retail outlets), telecommunications, vending machines and children's rides throughout our centres.

Retailer Relations plays a critical role in managing and educating retailers to help them gain the best returns from their businesses within Westfield centres. For example, the team conducts an annual Study Tour, which is open to retailers wishing to get ahead of key global retail trends. The team also provides opportunities for ongoing development through Retail Seed, our retailer education program.
Human Resources
The Human Resources team finds and develops the best people to maximise business performance. The team offers key services such as recruitment, induction, performance management, training and development, career management, rewards and remuneration, employee relations, employee communications, payroll services and employee engagement.
Corporate Affairs
Corporate Affairs is responsible for external communications strategies relating to activities that affect all of our stakeholder relationships, including those with media, political groups and the community.

Legal
The Legal team advises in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, finance and treasury, shopping centre development, management, leasing, corporate governance, and compliance and trade practices. The Legal team also supervises the Compliance and Company Secretarial function, which provides services to the Westfield Group Board, Committees and various subsidiary boards.
Business Improvement Group
At the Westfield Group we are always striving to continuously improve and enhance our efficiency. The Business Improvement Group (BIG) was recently established as a centre of excellence for identifying areas for process improvement.
Some recent process improvements include the centralisation of tenant rent payments, the design of a revised procurement and supplier payment system, and more effective ways to ensure accurate tenant billing.
