The Leasing division’s relationships with Australia’s leading national retailers and many international brands have enabled Westfield to develop great retail stores.
Developing new centres is always exciting. However, maintaining good-quality shopping experiences at 44 shopping centres with approximately 11,300 stores is an ongoing challenge and opportunity.
For example, in 2007 Westfield completed approximately 2,500 lease deals, an average of 48 a week. More than 10% were new retailers that were introduced into Westfield centres for the first time. This focus on re-invigorating the retail offering across the Westfield portfolio gives our centres the freshness they need to maintain their competitive advantage.
