About NSPCC

We’re pleased to have teamed up with the NSPCC as they celebrate their 123rd anniversary. The National Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Children was founded in 1884 and its aim then was to protect children from cruelty, support vulnerable families, campaign for changes to the law and raise awareness about abuse.

Today, the NSPCC looks very different, but its purpose remains the same: to end cruelty to children.

The NSPCC has 177 teams and projects in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands. The Belfast Therapeutic Team which is located just a few miles away from CastleCourt provides a service within North and West Belfast and helps the most vulnerable and isolated children to recover from the effects of abuse. The service provided is a fundamental part of children’s recovery as children and young people who do not receive help are believed to be less resilient and confident, and may be at an increased risk of re-abuse

We’ve got lots of fundraising events happening over the next few months so be sure to check out our news and events pages regularly.
